Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Draft pending legal review: this page is an initial draft prepared by the Munasaba team and will undergo professional legal review before its final adoption.

Your privacy — and your guests' — is a trust. This policy explains what data we collect on the Munasaba platform (including the venue portal), how we use it, who we share it with, and what your rights are.

1. Data we collect

Account data: name, email, password (stored hashed — we cannot read it), and phone number when you provide it.

Occasion data: dates, chosen venues, checklists, budgets, gift registries, and the public occasion site details.

Guest data entered by the host: names, phone numbers, seat counts, table assignments, and invitation/attendance status.

Service-provider data: business name, category, city, descriptions, prices, photos, contact details, and the client and payment records entered by venue-portal users.

Technical data: login records, sessions, network addresses, and browser type, for security and operations.

2. Where the data comes from

We receive data directly from you during registration and use, from the host when they enter their guests' details, and from Google (name, email, and identifier only) if you choose to sign in with Google.

3. How we use data

To operate platform features (accounts, planning, invitations, naqout, the directory, the venue portal), to send verification codes and operational messages, to provide support, and to improve the platform, protect its security, and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. SMS messages

We use a messaging provider (Twilio) to deliver verification codes and operational messages; your phone number is passed to it for delivery only, under contracts restricting its use.

5. Payments

Naqout and gift transfers happen via CliQ inside banking apps, entirely outside our platform. We do not collect or store card numbers or bank account details; we store only the CliQ alias the host publishes and indicative contribution records (contributor name and amount) to help the host track and thank guests.

6. Sharing data

We share data with technical service providers (hosting, databases, messaging) to the extent needed to run the platform and under confidentiality obligations, and with authorities where legally required.

Content you publish publicly (such as a provider profile or a public occasion site) is visible to anyone with its link or browsing the directory.

7. Guest data in particular

The host enters and controls their guests' data; we process it on the host's behalf to run invitations, seating, and event-night check-in features.

If you are a guest and want your data corrected or deleted, ask the host directly or contact us via the Help page and we will handle the request in coordination with them.

8. Cookies & local storage

We use a single essential cookie for your login session, and we save your preferences (like language and theme) in your device's local storage. We do not use advertising trackers.

9. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion through support, we delete or de-identify your personal data, and may retain limited records for a limited period for legal or security requirements.

10. Data security

We use encryption in transit, password hashing, role-based access, and periodic security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

11. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, object to unnecessary processing, and withdraw consent to non-essential messages — via the support channels on the Help page. We respond within a reasonable time.

12. Children

The platform is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. Guest lists entered by hosts may include family members of all ages; the host is responsible for entering them, as set out in the Terms of Use.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; we publish the new version with its last-updated date and give notice of material changes through an appropriate channel.

14. Contact us

For any privacy question or request, contact us via the channels on the Help & Contact page.
